// The Low Suns: 12.12.2011//

The Low Suns are a five piece guitar band, who craft soulfully cinematic songs that infuse faultless four-part harmonies with orchestral riffs, and crescendo in moments of spine-tingling magnitude.

Influenced by Jeff Buckley, The Flaming Lips, 1940s Gospel and sci-fi soundtracks The Low Suns make ambitious patchwork of addictive signature tunes and lyrics that exude Romantic sensibilities. The result is a stunning composition that erupts from the heart and soul with infectious melody and scintillating style.

Esoteric frontman and heartthrob Jack Berkley personifies cool. The hypnotic quality of his voice, combined with his effortless majesty and prevailing stage presence, organically compliments the splendour of The Low Suns’ inimitable ingenuity and sound. Chris Martin invited the band to open for Coldplay in December 2011. These shows will mark the beginning of the inevitable rise that will project The Low Suns into realms of ubiquity.

The superbly constructed anthems ‘Carnival’, ‘Never Gonna Care’ and ‘So Tired’ typify the band’s quality as distinguished songwriters and talented musicians, and will no doubt act as the benchmark for their certain ascension. The ‘Never Gonna Care’ EP is available for digital download now.

Having already achieved number ones in Asia, and primed to storm the UK with a plethora of stunning tunes and instant hits, The Low Suns are going to be ones to watch in 2012.

// Scribe Tribe: 05.12.2011//

This week’s featured artist is a 4 piece Hip Hop group from Brighton. Let me introduce you to Scribe Tribe.

Made up of MC’s Marz, Abi-D, Teejan, & Kendal, the group release their music through Zram Records, Marz’s own label. Taking influences from acts like Fliptix and Gorrilaz the group are creating a buzz on the underground UK scene.

Their debut album ‘G-Strings & Socks’  features old school beats and has received airplay from Brighton’s Radio Reverb. Earlier on in the year the group supported Wretch 32 and placed as runners up in Juice FM’s Battle Of The Bands with the host Tony Marks describing them as not far behind the hugely popular Rizzle Kicks, and we definitely agree.

Scribe-Tribe look to be one of the most versatile outfits to emerge from the South UK, with energetic performances, high octane beats, witty and humorous lyrics, Scribe-Tribe look to be the answer UK Hip Hop has been looking for.’

Keep an eye on these guys in 2012…

// Stefany June: 28.11.2011//

It’s a new week and a new featured artist; let me introduce you to the very talented Stefany June.

Self-described as ‘danceable music with a Scandinavian touch’, Stefany June and her band pull influences from Feist and Kate Bush.

Since April 2010 Stefany has been busy playing across Germany and The Netherlands with her band, and to great response. She spent much of 2011 supporting The Asteroids Galaxy on their tour, a band similar to her in both sound and style. She has become known for creating music with an upbeat fun sound and for her unmissable high voice which has drawn comparisons to successful singer songwriter Ellie Golding.

Her first official single ‘Summer’, was produced with Dutch mixer and producer Guido Aalbers and was released back in April through her label Galaxy Cat Records receiving rave reviews. Her latest release, a mini album called Dibadi, was released earlier this month. Have a listen below and be sure to keep an eye on Stefany, big things are predicted for her in 2012.

// Fools Road: 21.11.2011//

As this weeks’ Featured Artists we introduce to you: Fools Road. Sam McKenna and Pete Smith are best mates that met at college six years ago. Despite not wishing to work together creatively at the start, the boys finally joined forces. The next step was the studio and shortly after came Fools Road.

The reason the band work is down to the boys having considerable talent at different ends of the spectrum. Sam brings vocal talent and songwriting skill to the table, whereas Pete is the musical brains and master of guitar. As well as penning their own material, the boys have produced a great cover of their take on Paul Weller – Wild Wood, with another one on the way. Make sure you give the track a listen and let them know what you think over below or on their Soundcloud.
